HBO Participation
HBO Participation is a national foundation that supports students in participation at higher professional education institutions. Participation students are discussion partners for the board and contribute to discussions about proposed policy, finances and (the quality of) education. HBO Medezeggenschap supports these students by providing information, organising training courses and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and ideas. Want to know more? Click here.
National Consultation of Factions
The National Consultation of Factions (LOF) foundation is a national network of university councils, faculty councils, programme committees and assessors with the aim of providing them with information, providing training and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and ideas. The LOF focuses on strengthening university participation and communicates good and bad examples of participation to The Hague in order to improve the rights and facilitate the work of participation representatives. The LOF is affiliated with the National Student Union (LSVb) and works closely with the Hbo Medezeggenschap (HBO Participation). More information about LOF can be found here.
WHWatisdat!?
As a representative, you will encounter many administrative texts, laws and regulations. It is therefore understandable that you may feel completely overwhelmed in the first few months. This website offers some initial guidance, but the booklet WHWatisdat!? explains the law on higher education and scientific research in full for students. It explains exactly what the articles mean, how to develop your own initiatives and provides examples. OC-Wijzer
The OC-Wijzer is a useful guide for programme committee members and students involved in student participation. Sometimes you feel completely thrown in at the deep end: you only work a few hours a week, but during this time you have to reflect on the education of your programme in a useful way.
