What is the Student Helpline?

The Student Helpline is a free legal helpline provided by the National Student Union (LSVb). You can contact us with all your questions about your rights as a student. These include:

Exams, theses, BSA or deregistration

Tuition fees and internship allowances

DUO, public transport card or refunds

Complaints, objections or appeals

And other study-related matters where you think: ‘Is this actually allowed?’

We will give you clear explanations, think along with you and let you know what you can do.

What do we do (and not do)?

What you can expect from us:

We help you understand your rights, give advice and think along with you.

What we don’t do:

We don’t accompany you to meetings or write letters for you. But we do give you tips that are really useful. We also don’t answer questions about housing. For that, you can contact our Housing Hotline.

We are here to make complicated matters clear, so that you know where you stand and what you can do.

How does it work?

It’s very simple:

  1. Fill in our contact form
  2. Briefly describe the issue
  3. Our legal staff will read your question and contact you as soon as possible!

ALWAYS state the exact problem, your educational institution and any correspondence between you and the educational institution about the problem in the contact form.
